Guard
The Guard reliably checks the values of your hard drives and reports every change (or already existing problems) using a pop-up menu in the tray bar. It offers a quick look at the most essential information like size, health, performance and temperature.
Where can I find the Guard?
The Guard can be found in the tray bar (on Windows systems it is usually located down right of your screen). The guard is symbolized by a little icon (see picture below) and needs just a mouse over to appear.

But that’s not all! If you do a right click on the guard icon, a context menu opens. This little menu offers a quick access to the most important features of this program.
Report changes in the hard drive configuration means that Ashampoo HDD Control 2 informs you when an external hard drive is connected / disconnected. USB hard drives as well as eSATA (external Serial ATA) are supported. Uncheck this options, if you don’t want to receive any further messages.
